I was first exposed to this book by the CEO of a company I used to work for. His name was Alston Gardner and the company was OnTarget, later to be acquired by Siebel Systems (Oracle) for US$240m – give or take a few dollars. This book provides very practical wisdom across a range of important issues for anyone who works in the professional services or consulting space. It covers aspects of leadership but at the same time is relevant to people at all levels within an organisation. Alston would provide all new employees a copy of this book, some took it more to heart than others.
