The post-crisis consumer

I’ve been a fan of TED.com for a number of years. TEDx Conferences have been held here in Sydney over the past couple of years. I liked this presentation from Gerzema as he provides some insight into what I would call the “Buyer’s Journey”. While his remarks are mostly directed at the B2C space, there are some key points in this 16 and a half minute video I think you’ll get some interesting points from.

About This Talk
John Gerzema says there’s an upside to the recent financial crisis — the opportunity for positive change. Speaking at TEDxKC, he identifies four major cultural shifts driving new consumer behavior and shows how businesses are evolving to connect with thoughtful spending.

About TED.com
TEDTalks began as a simple attempt to share what happens at TED with the world. Under the moniker “ideas worth spreading,” talks were released online. They rapidly attracted a global audience in the millions. Indeed, the reaction was so enthusiastic that the entire TED website has been reengineered around TEDTalks, with the goal of giving everyone on-demand access to the world’s most inspiring voices.
